The 25th Christmas Market opened on the 24 of November at 5.00 p.m by the illumination of the christmas tree and the children choir Kinderhände performed on stage.

How long does the Christmas market last?
The Christmas Market Schloß Shönbrunn lastes for six weeks, in 2018 from the 24th November until the 26th December.

Is there a New Year’s Market too?
Straight after the Christmas Market, the New Year’s Market Schloß Schönbrunn begins.

Where did the christmas tree come from?
The Christmas tree of the Christmas Market is traditionally a present of the Österreichische Bundesforste. In 2018 the tree was from the Forstrevier Bruck an der Großglocknerstraße, Forstbetrieb Pinzgau from Salzburg.

No dogs or bikes are allowed within the entire Schönbrunn grounds including the Christmas Market and the New Years Market.

Are there any toilets and facilities for disabled people?
Toilets and barrier-free toilets for disabled people are in the visitor centre and the castle entrance. Additional toilets were in containers in west-arcades direction Meidlinger gate.

How did the SOS Kinderdorf wishing tree charity activity work?
There were two possibilities to help children in need and to donate to SOS Kinderdorf or 147 Rat auf Draht. Please find an exact description on how to help here.

When did the music groups perform?
Daily concerts took place from 24th November 2018 until the 6th January 2019. An exact schedule of the concerts of 2018/2019 can be found here.

Were there any special activities for children?
Especially for our younger visitors there was a lot to discover at the 25th Christmas Market Schönbrunn. Our Christmas workshop invited children to model their own marzipan figures, during the rally children were invited to solve puzzles and also Father Christmas visited the market. An ATM is in the visitor centre next to the main entrance.
